Wink Astro 97 - Advice on shock selection

There are many shocks available for these vans and I need the input of anyone that has replaced them. Autozone offers 4 or 5.

I like firm suspensions but not to the point that you feel every little defect on the road.

Thanks in advance

Re: Astro 97 - Advice on shock selection

I love the KYBs I installed on my 95. The van handles much better.

Re: Astro 97 - Advice on shock selection

when i bought my 86 Astro used the previous owner had put on heavy duty shocks. i replaced them with regular Monroes and the ride was much better. the back end is really light in these vans, i found that lowering the rear tire pressure to 28lbs helped too. just remember to bring the pressure back up if you tow or run with loads.

Re: Astro 97 - Advice on shock selection

I put Monroe Sensi-Trac on my '97.
It rides and handles well, for a truck, better than a then-new '04.
