I have a 2001 Montana and my headlights are very dim, I have to drive continously on high beams, does anyone know why? or got advice? Also on my drivers side headlight cover, there is a small hole in it, when it rains water accumulates inside, I have dried it out and sealed the hole, however my parking light and blinker don’t work, when my husband took it apart the wiring for the bulbs was burnt beyond repair, anyone know how to fix it?

Concerning the burnt wires for your turn/parking light, you may have to cut off the damaged wires and socket and replace with new to correct the problem. I've seen many GM minivans with this issue and one thing that may cause it is a excess buildup of moisture.

Re: 2001 Pontiac montana
As 97ventureowner stated change the socket and wiring to get the parking light to work. Not a hard job to do but sometimes the wiring may be hard to get to. Also have your husband check the ground wiring to your headlights. It sounds like there may be an issue with the low beam side not getting a good enough ground to allow them to work properly.

Also, after you replace the socket and wiring, make sure the connections are well sealed and water tight. Use a little di-electric grease in the socket to repel moisture. This grease is used for that purpose without hindering electrical current.

Re: 2001 Pontiac montana
I have a 2001 Montana with the check engine on. The codes first displayed that the O2 sensor was faulty so I replace both up and downstream sensors.
After I repalced the sensors and cleared the codes and I now have a solid Bank 1 fuel too lean code that will not go away. Does anyone know where I should start? Thanks. |
