hot a/c on drivers side

my a/c blows hot on the drivers side but cold on the passenger side. it is a 98 with dual cllimate control. I'm new at this but read a couple threads saying its as easy as charging the system. 1 guy found a vacuum leak on a line under the battery but I can't find one. I like to think I'm an ok mechanic and should be able to fix this myself if someone could just point me the right way Thanks

Re: hot a/c on drivers side

There could be one of 2 things (or both). Both are rather simple. First thing is to take your car to an a/c specialist or mechanic and have them evacuate the system and recharge it. The second thing is that the actuators for the driver's side vent are off and do not go all the way cold. The fix for this can be found in various threads on this forum, as I do not remember the exact procedure off the top of my head. I do know that it involves disconnecting the battery a few times and messing with your temp controls.
