Swapping out a Rotory

Does anyone know if it is possible to swap out a rotory motor in a BMW 2002? I own a 1971 BMW 2002 and I was looking at possbily swapping out the motor with a rotory.

Talking

Hey Frostbyte,
couldn't help overhearing your conversation, but when you're working on a car, anything is possible. It's just a lot of work, and cash! Rotary motors are pretty compact and they could fit under your hood, you just have to measure twice and weld once. But with the expense of buying another motor with it's own transmission (BMW's only fit BMW), and induction(carb or EFI) you could rebuild and modify your original 4 cyl engine! :smoka: You can turbo, supercharge, nitro it, the 2002 engine is just as good. Get a load of that 800 hp 2002 that's out in the 2002 post section. :bandit:

Do what?:smoka: swap a rotary? :smoka: well, a rotary is an awesome motor because it can rev slightly higher than a piston motor, and it has considerably fewer moving parts, so the guys develop this misconception that the engine is boulet proof. I would say just go out and buy an RX7.:smoka: I think the engine is the soul of the car, It should not be stripped away :smoka: but I think everyone is entitled to modify their car to their own style.

Do you know a place that sells superchargers for BMW 2002's? My BMW is Carb'ed and I will be building up the stock motor or getting a new stock motor and building that one up.
