Starter Problems 95 Suburban

The initial indication was classic starter going bad, turn key click, nothing. I have replaced the starter after making all connections on the starter the starter engages and starts the vehicle without the key. I initially thought the solenoid in the new starter was bad so I returned it for another starter, installed starter, same situation....... returned the second starter for a third starter, installed it, same situation.....

I have checked all cable connections and they are correct the last two starters I have had checked at the parts house before I left and they were working properly. This has me stumped any help would be appreciated...

I'm thinking this problem may be a bad ignition switch. Does anyone have any info on removing/installing a new ignition switch?????

Proper testing will tell you what the problem is.
Is the small wire on solenoid getting good 12 volts with key in start position?
If not see if start position 12 volts is going to and threw the neutral switch and or the clutch pedal switch.

I agree MT proper testing will usually fix the problem. I actually had 2 problems, first the locking tab on the battery lug was bent out and when the lug was tightened down on the terminal it was touching the base of the terminal where the purple solenoid wire lives. applying battery automatically energized the starter solenoid because of the breech. after I bent the lug lock back into place and made sure when I tightened they did not touch in any way all was good when the circuit was completely hooked up, but then when I turned the key nothing no 12 volts on the starter solenoid wire, that ended up being a blown 40 amp ignition fuse. Now all is well.
