Delco-loc problems

I just got a 1990 Oldsmobile 98 for my son and the stereo is the orginal. The only thing that comes on is 98.1 and the time 1:00, the volume will not turn up, no sound comes out, you can not program stations or change them or change the clock. What can I do to get this stereo to work? There is no code written down to unlock this. How do you even know if it is locked? It does not say loc the display it is 1:00 or 98.1 on the display.

Re: Delco-loc problems

Time for a new radio.

Anymore they make it real easy to wire and install aftermarket radios in cars, radio/CD Players's are not that expensive for a decent one and harness kits once wired to the radio (pretty much matching the wire colors from the radio to the harness kit) make them plug and play right into the cars existing wiring, the install kits are somewhat universal plastic bezels to mount the radio into, choose the right one for your car from the list, put the radio into the bezel then it goes in the dash effectively covering the large hole left by the factory radio's removal.

Re: Delco-loc problems

look for something to reset it (a small button somewhere on the faceplate) ..... if nothing is there, it probably is time to get a new stereo
