Re: Huge for '01 dodge neon...WANT YOUR OPINIONS
I hate neons. Ugh. What an ugly car.
-Anyway, mod list looks okay in terms of bolt on stuff. I dunno how well the neon responds to bolt ons, but the key thing for 4 bangers like this is to make it breathe better so you are doing pretty good there. CAI helps for midrange power. Consider a high flow cat also. If neons have a throttle body, have it bored out or buy a bored out unit. More effective after you get the intake/exhaust/etc. Maybe even an intake manifold if its worth the extra dough. -Make sure you get a true coil over setup from a reputable brand (only thing i know about coilovers). There are a few knockoffs out there. -I highly doubt the spark plugs/wires are necessary. Wires wouldn't hurt but there isn't any benefit unless you're doing forced induction so get whatever is cheaper. Only get plugs that are recommended for your car. -Forget the coil. Unnecessary unless there is forced induction. -Even though it would look cool, even on a neon, a carbon fiber hood may not be a good idea because it lightens the load on the front, where the drive wheels are, so you may lose a little traction. -As for the sound system, screw lightning audio. They're okay, but, eh. Just get one or two Alpine Type-Rs (do you really want 4 subs in a compact?). On ebay you'll probably pay around 110 each at the cheapest and are very good subs for sound quality at high volume. -I have an older version of that Pioneer amp you seem to be looking at. I have the 2 channels bridged producing 440 watts, newer ones produce slightly less i believe but has been great to me over the years. -DO NOT BUY DUAL. If you want a monitor, get an Alpine, Pioneer, or Clarion unit on ebay, used or new (not refurbished!).
