Question Wrong shocks on Z71 question???

I had new heavy duty shocks installed on my 1997 Z71 a couple of years ago and I have had problems with tire wear since then. It did not occur to me that it could be the shocks. I pull heavy trailer loads and my tires are scallupping. When I check yesterday to see what shocks the repair garage that I use had installed, they were (Gas Magnums 34985). I check on the web to see what the specs were for this shock, and the specs indicated to not use this shock on a Z71. I call the service garage and they are going to make it good and replace the shocks with the correct ones for my truck. Question is??? Could this have caused my tire wear??

Re: Wrong shocks on Z71 question???

I don't know what would be the best shocks,
But the 97 Z71 came with Bilsteins and they are reaaly good on my truck.
They also have a lifetime warrantee.
What did they do with your originals?

Re: Wrong shocks on Z71 question???

The originals were removed over a year ago. They probably tossed them.
