1996 s10 blazer dieing
I have a 1996 s10 blazer 4wd 4door LT, I just replaced the fuel pump because it went out. I installed a new fuel filter. Now after driving about 20 minutes(once it gets hot) it will putter and die. I can start it back up right away, but it will die again. If I let it set a minute then I can get about a block before it dies again. Please Help!!!

Re: 1996 s10 blazer dieing
Get a fuel pressure guage on there and leave it on there and go for a ride, watch the pressure as its about to stall, see where it goes. You have to get the guage witha a long enough hose so you can have it on your winshield as you drive.

Re: 1996 s10 blazer dieing
Will do. If the fuel pressure drops out, does that mean a bad pump & if it does not then could I be looking at a distributor problem.

Re: 1996 s10 blazer dieing
No not distributor, distributor has not connection to fuel pump. If the fuel pressure is dropping out, and it looks like you have a fuel pump issue again, yes it could easily be a bad pump, especially if you have a aftermarket pump. It could also be an electrical issue. You could have a poor ground connection, it could be a few issues if its a pressure problem. Get a guage on there, and post the results and go from there.
