Wink $$Cost$$

I was just wondering if any one could give me a ball park figure of how much it will cost to replace the valves in a 1997 blazer 4x4 and how much a compressor will cost

Re: $$Cost$$

Kinda depends on how much other stuff you need with the valves.

Tell us what all it needs with the valves?

If you are have a repair shop do it they will give you a estimate before repair.

If you DIY it have a machine shop give you a estimate on head work.
And check with parts place on parts cost.

A new compressor will run in the 2-3 hundred range for a brand new one.

I the poster was asking about a AC compressor.

Tool rental places may rent Air compressors.
Not sure about AZ or Advance But give them a call.

Re: $$Cost$$

You may or not need valves.
Pull the valve covers and have a look at things.
Could be a lose rocker arm or bad push rod.

How is the oil pressure?

Re: $$Cost$$

It could also be a leaking lower intake manifold gasket. On my 2000 Blazer, the first symptom of a leaking gasket was an intermittent valve tap on the left side of the engine -- even before there was a perceptable drop in the coolant level.
