Trip computer won't show Current MPG
I just bought a 2005 Megane Coupe Cabriolet. The manual says that one of the parameteers that the trip computer will show is Current Fuel Consumption, but mine won't. If I cycle through all the values using the button on the end of the right hand steering column control, I get:
Should this value be there? If it's not, what might be the cause? It's annoying, since I find that instantaneous fuel consumption is the most helpful thing to display to help with economical driving. Thanks - Rowan |

Re: Trip computer won't show Current MPG
Same here. Mine follows the sequence you quote except for the final line.
Mine reads "Auto lights De-activated" because they are (I chose this option) I think there may be a software build issue between what is installed on the cars and what is written in the handbook. Dealer may be able to install newer software.............at a price. |

Re: Trip computer won't show Current MPG
If I remember rightly, I did eventually manage to get a reply from Renault on this. They told me that in France (I understand that this means "when displaying kilometres per litre") the car does show the instantaneous fuel consumption, but that in the UK (mpg) it does not.
How mad is that! I take this is evidence that the 100 years' war has never really finished, and they've still got it in for us. What other reason can there be? Seriously, if anyone has found a cure for this (e.g. a firmware upgrade), please let us know! Thanks - Rowan |
