2004 F150 Transmission leak

I have a 2004 F150 new body style with a 4R70E transmission in it. I have a leak at the front of the transmission. I have replaced the front seal and it stills leaks. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2004 F150 Transmission leak

Hi

You have a lot of places a trans can leak up front: The converter hub seal. There is a seal around the pump, there is a gasket around the pump. A weld on the torque converter can fracture and leak. The trans can run hot, have too much converter pressure and push past the seal. The converter hub bushing could be worn, which puts too much pressure on the hub seal. Converter running off centerline, all kinds of things See, with all these different locations that can leak. You should try to pinpoint and observe when the leak accures (Hot, cold, idleing, sitting overnight, freeway driving) Then when the transmission is taken out again. Then carefully follow the oil path to the leak. I have used baking flour and blown it into the bell housing area to help pinpoint difficult leaks.
