Shock ?
What are the best heavy duty shocks for a 97 1/2 ton Z71?

Re: Shock ?
Its all in what kind of ride you want? They should also be matched up to the kind of tires you have. Highway, all around or offroad. To many people want off road tires and off road shocks and then complain about the ride on the highway. Match the shocks to your driving. I have had good luck with both Delco and NAPA and they make all 3 rides.

Re: Shock ?
Monroe isn't bad either. The reflex shock is a good comfortable ride on the road, and gives decent support for some off road driving.
Doesn't your Z71 come with Bilstein's? Or did that not start until sometime in the '00s? |

Re: Shock ?
I've found KYB's to be good on the back, they have a smoother ride with no load than Monroe's. I run Monroe Reflex on the front and with the KYB's on the back the ride is great. Now, this is coming from a 92 street truck (not a work truck), short bed with Michelin LT tires.

Re: Shock ?
I have installed the Reflex on front and rear. I hope these work for the heavy trailer pulling and off road activity that I do.
