Re: Accord

If you like the car, get it... Simple as that...
And as far as aftermarket goes? Haha, honestly you can do whatever your twisted little mind tells you to do with it, just don't come in here showing off your t1gh7 sh1t y0...

So you're getting a car to impress other people? Hmmm....I thought you're supposed to get a car for yourself .

but seriously, any car can be made fast. But if you really want a fast car, why start with an accord? If you're looking for decent performance and still a daily driver, then yea the accord is a good choice. Try to plan a little in advance...

Re: Accord

Honest response to your last post... Don't try to "upgrade" your Accord... Please, save yourself the trouble...
Keep the money and save up for a car worth making fast(er)... Accord is just ... not it...

Re: Accord

Accord is just fine. Get the V6 model, I/H/E her, maybe some spray. It'll be decently wuick, and perfectly reliable as a daily driver.

Re: Accord

Like KiillaKam said, the accord is not something you make into a street racer. I'm not into Hondas, but I dont think there is much (any?) after market support for it. It all depends on what you are looking for and how much $$ your willing to spend.

I'll tell you what I did. I saved up a little over $15k. I was looking at RX7's, 300ZX's, some Supras, I thought maybe even an older RS4 (2.7TT), E36 M3, previous gen Cobra, etc....

Then I realized I don't have a garage. That means I would have to park it on the street, and a few had been stolen or broken into over the past couple years. I wouldn't have a lot of money for after market/repairs (and german cars are crazy expensive to fix, just ask KillaKam) and the car would have to be very dependable as I drive it to school & work. A few of my friends had Maximas. I drove them and was pretty impressed. It came down to this: the maxima is no racer, but it really goes for a 4dr family sedan, its very dependable, on the rare occasion when something does break, its usually cheap to fix, Maximas are stolen, but not nearly as much as others around my neighborhood. I decided to spend 4500 and save for something more serious in the future. If I want there is the Stillen V2 Supercharger kit for my car which, with some other mods puts it around 380bhp.

I know I'm to write all that, but the point is, take everything into account, and then make your choice.

wait, you mean accords aren't rice from the factory already?

just kidding, if you really want the accord and want that clean image look, get the v-6, rims, drop, tint, no after-market tail lights, you can get away with smoked lights. get HIDs, no fart cans. That, is pretty much a simple clean look.

you kind of sound like me when i first started, i went toyota instead of honda, that's a hint.

Re: Accord

Do you want an accord or do you want a fast car?

Some of the poor kids that work with me, i.e. grew up in the ghetto without a dad and mom worked three jobs waiting to collect her government cheese, some of those guys look at accords and go "dayum son, now that be a car I wantz yo, shiz playa car be balling!"

so if you think an accord is a sweet ride and want one get it!

Now if you want a fast car then be smart and start out with a fast car and make it even faster.
if class and status is what you seek then get a bimmer or a merc or even an Infinity.
Accords are a dime a dozen and you see them everywhere. also with I/H/E and juice they run what? same times as a bone stock Stang GT?

Re: Accord

to be honest i really dont really like the accord coupe that much it was just one of my better options and i was wondering if it was a good one.

what do you think about the mazdaspeed6 can you find v6 ones used easily?

ive found many bmw's that were well in my price range and only a couple years old, and still had more power than the accord, but im just afraid of the high cost of repairs

im still researching which car would be the best fit for me, im going to buy one by the end of the summer so i still have some time

Re: Accord

To make it a little faster you could just add some run of the mill stuff like induction kit, super chip, performance exhaust system etc.

If you want a really fast car the Rx7, Skyline, and Supra are all good cars.

The mazdaspeed 6 and the V6 mazda 6 are completely different cars, the MS6 will run you about 25g used and 28g new. you can find a mazda 6s which is the V6 at anywhere between 12g-18g used of course depending on the year and milage.
