93 Starter problem
I have a 1993 explorer with the v6. the starter stopped working one day it clickks... we removed the alarm system, and still the same thing. we then had the starter tested and its fine... any sugestions would be greatly appriciated

Do you get a series of clicks, or just a single click when you try to start it?
If a series of clicks, it sounds like the starter motor or solenoid is struggling to get enough voltage/current. If that's the case, you should start by checking the battery cables to make sure they are clean and tight. Don't just glance at them, pull them off the battery and make sure they're clean. Also, if you have temporary clamps that bolt on to the battery cable, throw them away and replace them with the OEM-style molded battery cables. If the cables are clean and tight at the battery, check the connections at the other end. If all that checks out, you should have your battery load tested. If you get just a single click, then the problem is probably the starter, even though it tested okay on the bench. -Rod |

another thing
if it is a single click then ur starter could be workin but it cant push the flywheel ur engine may be stuck i had this problem on a diff car last year if u can hook up a VAT-40 or something similar and c if the starter is drawin to many amps from the battery just my .02 |

well is it manaul or automatic well some of the security systems are very conplex so i would just take it to a mechinac and see what they would say. it should take to long to figure out.
