2001 Aurora trans story

I was interested in the post about the 2001 Aurora trans problem because my 2001 Aurora does the same thing. Dealer replaced the selenoid but it did not help. Now dealer advised me that GM is aware of this problem and the fix is for them to re-write the computer software, which they won't do on an older car. My 2001 only has 50,000 miles on it.

I was told I just have to live with it. Can anybody direct me to someone at GM or Olds that may be able to help?

Re: 2001 Aurora trans story

Care to elaborate what your issue is?? I just had my 02 tranny rebuilt as it had the cookie cutter shaft stripped which the mechanic said is an inherant problem with the 65E tranny.
MY issue was no 4th gear .
