AC not working

My A/C does not work

The relay is ok.

The system has Refrigerant.

I did notice the clutch does not kick in to turn over the compresor
does this indicate the clutch is bad.

Any help is appresiated!

Thank you!

Re: AC not working

ANy break in the clutch circuit/control can cause this: out of details about the car year, this www.avigex.ca/xport/accompressorcontrol.jpg
is a typical Pontiac schematic : you see it includes pressure switches , a relay, and authority from the ECM....
Since you say the relay is good, may be you could make a direct bypass from that point to see if corrent flows through compressor clutch coil...or simply test it with an ohmmeter.

Re: AC not working

Check to make sure the low pressure sensor isn't damaged/disconnected. This will prevent the compressor from kicking on.
