94 euro idles high bucks at high speed

Recently took a long trip roughly 600 miles into it the car bolted at about 65 and then ran perfect. We were going up a hill. Stopped to rest and started the car and the rpms were around 2000 and steady at idle, turned the car off and restarted and everything was great with normal idle. During the trip this happened several times very inconsistant sometimes idling high and sometimes bucking its like a shudder but very brief with no loss in proformance. It seems that if you drive anyways instead of restarting when idling high that is when it jumps driving. Oh yeah it shifts great Well I can't think of anying else Thank you for any help.

Check engine light has come on twice for about 3-5 seconds each time and went off. Both times was idling high around 2000rpm in park. Other then that no. Oh yeah it is running rich and using a quite a bit more gas.

Chech your upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. I had the same thing happen to me, and that's what it was. The excess air is getting into the manifold making it rev at 1500 rpms when it's idling, and won't rev above 3000 rpms. If this is the problem then the intake manifold gaskets are it.
