Passat or Audi Sedan

Looking for a nice 4 door, with some options. Prefer an '03 or newer, reasonable miles under $20k. Have looked at and liked both the VW Passat and the Audi's, but have heard some not so great things. Are these rumors in regards to the older models, or are ALL of them created the same? I am not high maitenance, don't need a vehicle that is, either!!!

Re: Passat or Audi Sedan

If you're worried about maintenence, then don't buy either. Both require dedicated funds and TLC from what i've read in order to stay running right, even though they're great cars. I dunno if the newer audis (B6 & B7) have all the bugs worked out or not, but B5 series you're probably not gonna want. www.audiworld.com is a great audi owners site and has a post regarding first timers looking to buying an audi in the FAQ on what to look for (there are a lot of things). I suggest looking at an Avalon or something along those lines.
