99 GT Digital Dual Climate Control

Technical question , my compressor only comes on when the outside temp display is reading correctly, it operates sporatically......... back and forth between reading 37 deg`s or whatever actual outside temp is at the time it decides to work. I bought a 100 controller off of ebay thinking this will do it. nothing same thing. I took one from a local wrecking yard and the same thing.
What correlation is there between temp display on the controller and the compressor being brought in? I`m thinking the 3 way pressure switch has something to do with the -ground side and they work in conjuntion somehow?
I have verified the correct charge of refrigerant also?????????

there is an ambient air temp sensor on the front side of the radiator towards the pass side. look up between the the bumper and the radiator from under the car and you'll see it. its a bout 1 1/2 inc long black sensor and this reads the outside temp. cost about 11 bucks at the dealer. I had same problem bout 2 years ago and this fixed it.

I had the same thing happen as well. My car was under warranty so I took it in to get it fixed, but they told me it was a sensor. I'm assuming it is the same one he's talking about.
