'96 Continental Air compressor

The compressor runs, but I can hear air leaking from the bottom of the compressor. Once in a while it would lift the car, and I would shut the system down from the trunk. The air would hold for weeks, but I think with the system off,it would still vent and level the car when parked, and eventually I would have to start the car until the system decided to work again.
The air bags seem to be holding air, and when the compressor runs, it would click and then it would lift the car. Now it's not lifting it at all. I want to do the conversion, but if I could get away with a new compressor, that would be better.
Couple of questions:
Does anyone think it's a problem besides the compressor?
How much would it cost on average for someone to install the conversion?

Just need some encouragment on which way I should go at this point. It's obvious, but I'm cheap!!

Re: '96 Continental Air compressor

When I first read through your post, it seemed logical that there was a solenoid near the compressor that was keeping the air from entering the system.

However, looking at the diagrams I don't see any solenoid in that area.

I suppose proving the compressor doesn't pump air would be the next step.

The leaders in replacement systems and components are http://www.americanairsuspension.com/ and http://www.arnottindustries.com/

You can get Air parts or complete conversions.
