running hot!!

so the past two days i have had a problem with my engine running hotter than usual. the temp guage NEVER went past the middle mark which is 195, but the past two days it has gone slightly past it (where the white line is)

but it seems like when i turn the car off and turn it back on the temp will slowly go back down to normal.(i noticed that when i got gas) what could cause this??? i know its not a major thing cuz its only s few degrees more than normal but i dont want to be stranded somewhere down the road cuz my engine overheated from something that could have been fixed now rather than later.

Re: running hot!!

my 88 was doing that too i replaced the waterpump and the thermostat was froze and didnt want to open when it was suppose too so if i were you i would

get a new thermostat - $5-10
get a new Waterpump (if its not the thermostat) $25-35
and you will need more coolant if you change the waterpump so however much coolant is

Re: running hot!!

You could always just pull your thermostat out and your car will run nice and cool...
