4.56 Gearing With Stock Tire Size
I put my stock tires on during the Michigan winters since 35'' Super Swampers aren't great in icy/snowy conditions. How would 4.56 gearing affect driving? Would I be in 5th (yes, it's a manual trans) at 25mph?! What top speend could I expect? Just wondering if anybody else has done this. Thanks!

Re: 4.56 Gearing With Stock Tire Size
I would suggest trying to find a tire a little closer to the 35 incher. It's going to suck to drive with those gears. What I have always done (and yes I know it's more money) is to buy a good set of all terrain tires to roll on the majority of the time. I would save the swampers for off-road if at all possible. They really don't enjoy a very long life on the street anyway. Are your swampers radial or bias ply? Either way I would put them on a cheap set of rims an save em for when you play.

Well Neither sets of rims are great. The swampers are radials... so they'll last a little longer on the road, but not as long as something made for the road. I'm thinking about getting some 31's that'll fit the stock rims and their offset. How would 31's do with 4.56 gears? What kind of rpms would I be doing at 70 - 75mph? I'll try to guesstimate and update this a little later. Thanks!
