2000 F250 PSD Help
Ok I own a 2000 F250 with the 7.3 powerstroke, about 162k on the odo. The other day I noticed it was turning over slow. Took it to a parts store to get a battery test and noticed the cables were really corroded. The test this time came back showing a low charge rate on my alternator being in the upper 12's or maybe the low 13's. I cleaned the cables real well but didn't have a chance to take it back that day. The rest of the day the engine started ok. That evening I hooked up to my toy hauler and was planning on taking out the next morning. When I tried to start the engine it turned over slowly, but wouldn't start at all. My first thought was the cam position sensor. Grabbed one of the new parts from the parts house stuck it on and jumped the truck off. I took it back to the parts store and had it tested again this time with the clean cables. Still a low charge and it also showed a bad diode in the alternator. I put a new one on, and everything seemed ok. Trucks was doing fine, but still a bit slow starting in the mornings. Then it done something its never done before, I was taking off and it kinda cut out but didn't die. It shuttered real hard, but kept going. During the week it done that maybe three more times, and then on my way home from the trip it started acting real weird. It was cutting out real bad, and the check engine light came on. I wanted to take it and have the tester put on it since it would show a code, but the light went off before I could get it to the shop. I continued on my way home and it did the cut out thing two more times and the light came back on. It stayed on but went out again before I could get it to a shop. One thing that I did notice was it was raining alot this week. Any ideas of what could be causing this. thanks for any help.
