3.8 no start

3.8 no start
Yup another non starting 3.8. It is a '87 regency 88 or something along those lines (guessing badging was altered). I am going to be looking at it this weekend and any direction would be appreciated. here is a what has been going on.
For about a week the car would start ,run really bad and die. Then you could restart with no real issue and it would run bad and die. This would go on until it warmed up a certain amount and then it would run fairly smooth. After shutting it off and cooling down it would be the same process again. You could fluctuate the gas pedal to keep her running but would get some back firing so the restart till warm seemed the better option at the time.
I took it to work one day and when I went to leave it started ,died and would not restart. If you have any ideas let me know. ill be pulling her apart soon.
Thanks

Cool Re: 3.8 no start

Looks like it is going to be the ignition module . constant power at one coil when cranking. disconected the module from the coil on the lines that were not switching on and off. I believe it was to the coil pack for #1,2. then cranked it over and it started mint on just the other four cylinders. Going to hit the junk yard to see what i can find. (price listed at $30 for gm coil pack at wrecker)
