97 Venture

Hi All,
I am trying to find the correct name of the cooling tube that crosses over the upper front part of the engine. The coolant bypass hose (rubber) connects to it and it has a bleeding screw on the left side. I would call it a cross-over tube, but I can not find it by that name. I need to oreder one online from Germany and am looking for some help.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: 97 Venture

My manual calls it a "thermostat bypass tube"......try http://www.gmpartsdirect.com and look at the catalog...but I don't know if they ship to Germany.

I'm betting that tube is different depending on whether you have the factory oil cooler option....good luck! Glen

Re: 97 Venture

Thanks GregA and Glen_T!!

GregA, The engine is a 3.4L.

Glen_T, I went to the link you provided and when I opened the picture of the by-pass tube, the part I am looking for is item #18, whcih is not the part indicated as the by-pass tube. I will keep looking to see if I can lock in the part number.

Then I can start looking for some one who will ship to Germany!

Thanks so much for you quick help. My poor van is getting to the "Everthing that can go wrong does point" am trying to save her!!!

Re: 97 Venture

Look under "pipe".....that site it a little confusing because it doesn't specify which you need....

Can you find a part number on the old part? That may be the only sure way you will get the right part....Glen
