1992 Caravan Transmission Issues

Greetings folks. Wow, I'm glad I found this place.

I did quite a bit of searching, and already learned a lot, but I haven't come across my exact issue yet.

I have a 92 Caravan, 3.0, approx 200k...About a year ago it started squeaking, albeit faintly, while shifting in drive. Over time the squeak grew louder. It's also occasionally stalls while slowing down after about 15 or 20 minutes on the freeway (seperate issue, spark).

About a month ago it stalled out as I was slowing down due to slow traffic on the freeway, so I went to throw her into neutral to start up again...Ooops, nudged the shifter a bit too hard, and it went into reverse. Thankfully I had already slowed down to a crawl. Since then, it's had a hard time getting up and going from a stop, especially if I try to gun it. It makes a weird "wurring" noise, and seems like it takes it a second for the gears to grab or something? It occasionally does this between 1st and 2nd too.

So earlier today I was out doing some errands, and as I was pulling out from a parking spot, drive went out completely, as did neutral. Reverse works fine though. Fluid is good. I've only had to add a little bit in the year and a half I've owned it, and I believe it was ATF 3 + (don't have the bottle with me, it's in the van, which is across town in that parking spot).

Fortunately, there's a tranny shop about 7 blocks from where it died, so I'll be driving it there in reverse. Or should I even bother? Is it fixable? Is it dead for good? I saw one post where a guy's van was doing a similar thing, but was able to drive forward after letting it sit for a while. Hopefully that's the case, and I can at least get it home to investigate it a bit more before taking it a shop.
