Digital Display - Miles not changing to Km

I just purchased a 94 9C1 LT1 with about 129K miles on it yesterday and overall pleased with the purchase thus far.

It is just sitting in the driveway until I get temp plates and insured where I can take it to get it emissions tested and certified this weekend (the previous owner was kind enought to tow the car to my house as I paid for the dolly rental and his gas)

I know these digital dash displays can be a real pain and fortunately, the mileage reads correctly (It is currently on the miles setting), however, being up here in Canada, I need to get it to show in kilometers.

I assume its the button that says E/M but pressing that does not do anything.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may be wrong or possible solutions?
