Hard To Start and Won't Idle

My son's 96 Grand Am SE died on him the other day. Now the car is hard to start and when it does start will not idle. I replaced the filter with no joy. I can not find the valve on the fuel rail to check the fuel pressure. It is 2.4 4 cyl. Any suggestions?

Welcome to AF.

Thier is not a shraader valve on your 4 cyl.

You will have to rent or buy a tool that has a hose and gauge assembly that you connect in the fuel line.
Its a pain I know.

On the idle and no start check the Idle air control (IAC) its on the side of the TB.
Its facing the drivers side.
This link might help , its relativly the same throughout .
Idle Air Control(IAC) Testing Replacing
Hope that helps!
