Jaguar quality suffering?

Hi all,

I'm just curious if Jaguar's quality can be trusted. I've heard both sides of the debate, that:

Jaguar can't be trusted for quality since Ford acquired them

and that

Jaguar is more reliable since Ford took them over.

So

Which is it?

Thoughts?

Re: Jaguar quality suffering?

The fact is (as measured by multiple sources) Jaguar quality has improved tremendously since Ford took over in the 1980s. Jaguar traditionally languished in the bottom half of most quality surveys before the 1990s. In the early-mid 1990s, Jaguar was ranked among the top five.

The modern Jaguars I've driven were excellent cars combining the quality of an experienced manufacturer and the driving attributes of a small maker. Today, their cars are just as good.

Nice - thanks.

So for someone that is going to spend upwards of $50,000 on a car would you feel confident of them purchasing a Jag (instead of a BMW or Merc)?

Re: Jaguar quality suffering?

I've passed over BMW and Merc twice now to buy new Jags. Have yet to regret those decisions.
