Question 94 APV No high end power

Hi, The van starts and idles ok but when you try to floor it it lacks power. It's a 3.8 and I put a new Harmonic balencer and crank sensor on it for a different problem but it sat a long time before I got to it. I got a code for a High TPS, then cleared codes and drove, then got Low TPS. For some reason I don't think that is what it is. I haven't checked fuel pressure or clogged converter. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Oh, Also sometimes it will start to idle really high, Like 3 to 4 thousand for awhile then come back down after awhile.

Well..you have to clear or at least test that TPS problem anyway ....these codes inhibit 4th and TCC and cruise....you probably have a cut in the resistance track..test at TPS with an ohmmeter between center and one end: should read a continuously variable resistance value (like varying from near 0 to10kohms ) as you move throttle, without jumps nor misses...

Otherwise, if you did not run for long since the crank sensor/balancer change and disconnected battery, all "custom" values generated by the computer were lost..it takes several engine cycles for the computer to readjust...but generally though, the consequence is not drastic...

Re: 94 APV No high end power

Thanks LMP, I checked it and wasn't liking the readings so thought I might as well spend the money and see if a tps would take care of it---and it did! Now can you help me with my power window problem? The passenger window doesn't work. Replaced the motor-Not it! Was checking some of your earlier posts to someone on the Trans sport forum and found a wiring diagram. Found the blue wire between the two doors has no continuity. used a jumper wire and it worked. Do you know where that lihgt blue wire goes when it leaves the doors, (Behind dash, under floor) Guess I could take off the door panels and run a new wire behind dash. Thanks in advance, Joe

Re: 94 APV No high end power

..Do the windows work normally now when you install the bypass wire?...
If so, then the original goes within bundles by ways you would not want to reach anyway...so run the replacement wire in the most convenient path you can find and tie the ends securely....
