Welcome to AF. More info here, what engine, cranks and won't fire? How many miles, service history. Please get used to providing all the info when posting, your description is too brief for any online help.

Re: help 98 lumina

Hello, I also have a 98 Lumina, 3.1L sedan. Just recently something caused it not to start. Turn the key, (all lights on as normal), and nothing happens. No click, no sound at all. Just nothing. I tried it several times, tried shifting through gears and tried starting in 'N' as well as 'Park' (wondering if it might be a neutral safety switch problem). Later, before getting out to walk I tried it one more time and...it started as normal! For 2 days it worked fine, then today--same thing. Turn the key, nothing happens. Does this sound like a starter problem? Or could it be a neutral safety switch issue? Or perhaps something to do with the key security (have to use original key with the little chip on it--which I'm doing--but could that system malfunctioning cause the problem?)...is there a solenoid associated with that security system? Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks!
