Exhaust
I have a cherry bomb glass pack on my 2004 silverado crew cab now. Its not loud enough for me. What is the best way to get an almost ground shacking rumble? Ive heard it on some trucks but no one seems to know how to do it. Thanks Jonathan

Re: Exhaust
The loudest setup you can have is straight piped. I know quite a few people are against it tho.

Re: Exhaust
I had straight 3' pipes on my '95 350 and at idle it sounded like a German U boat coming into port. When I drove it it was really really loud!
Well he did say it wasn't loud enough. I say take off the headers too. Seriously though. There's a good sounding exhaust, then theres really loud. I would not say mine was good sounding...I thought it sounded OK when I drove it but a few times someone else drove it and I got to hear it from a distance and it sounded like a really big elephant farting! Re: Exhaust
put headers on and striaght pipe it from the cat. Since the cats are required.

Re: Exhaust
What are you going to use to channel the exhaust away from the engine? need something. plus cats are required.
HOwever, I do agree with you. "There's a good sounding exhaust, then theres really loud." I hate the butt-slapping exhaust. Just does not sound like a truck to me.

Re: Exhaust
Im looking for the loudest exhaust that still has a good deep tone. I dont like straight pipes. I dont think it sounds good.

Re: Exhaust
i have 2 glass packs on mine and i agree its not that loud, although i dont have tailpipes either.im pretty sure if i ran the pipes out the back it would be much louder.really the way to get a genuine v8 dual sound is no cats and 2 pipes with free flowing mufflers.it works on all muscle cars, and obviously thats the sound everyone tries to imitate.unfortunately whether for legal or performance reasons most of us need the cats.im pretty happy with mine tho.it is louder than the turbo mufflers i had before.keep in mind there are four cats on these things, and no matter what your gonna be fighting them
