Gordon Brown has banned ministers from using the word “Muslim” in *connection with the *terrorism crisis.

The Prime Minister has also instructed his team – including new Home Secretary Jacqui Smith – that the phrase “war on *terror” is to be dropped.

That's awesome. We have a similar movement here in the US. I hear Mike Helton banned the word "redneck" from being used in *connection with *NASCAR racing.

Sounds fair. NASCAR is a multi million dollar industry that provides opportunities for hundreds of very skilled drivers and thousands of skilled technicians. The advertising and promotion opportunities are huge, with many multinational companies pumping big money into the sport.

To refer to NASCAR as a 'redneck' sport does not give a fair and balanced commentary. To refer to George Bush's theft of Iraq as a 'war on terror' is equally ignorant, and to imply that all terrorists are muslim is plain racism.Timothy McVeigh anyone? Protestants vs Catholics in Northern Ireland? Basque separatists anyone?

The average U.S. citizen has absolutely no direct experience of terrorism. Parroting the pronouncements of a corrupt government does not impress me at all.The polls currently put confidence levels in the President at their lowest ever. If the American public don't like or trust him, why should any of us fall for his cliched propaganda?

By the way, in these recent events over in the UK. Have any names been released in connection with the attacks?? I think they have....I just can't seem to remember them off the top of my head. I'm sure you do though. Are they your typical Protestant/Catholic names??

The world DOES learn from past stupidy [unless it happens in Vietnam] if Blair's embarrassing support for terrorism was at all popular in Britain, he'd still be Prime Minister.He's a classic case of a rat deserting a sinking ship.

Sadly, Gordon Brown will not be in the seat long enough to repair the damage caused to his party by George's fuckbuddy. Hopefully he lasts until the moron in the white house gets fired.
