94 buick harmonic balncer issues
i have a 94 buick lesabre and i have no spark when i crank an as well i have noticed that the bolt in the center of the balancer is spinnin an the belt assembly is not as well i turned the belt assembly by hand so that tells me the motors not lockd up thanx

Are you saying the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer is turning but the balancer is not?

It sounds like the balancer is loose from the hub. That would explain the no-start, since the crank position sensor array gets its signal from the interuptor rings on the rear of the balancer (Fast-Start system).

thanx for all the input what had happened is the balancer had pretty much exploded on the in side i thought it was a massive job but found out it was a 10 min job thanx

![]() This whole thread is confusing me! Could you explain how the balancer “exploded from the inside” and how you changed it in 10-min? I have changed quite a few harmonic balancers in my time, with the car on a lift and all the air power tools available, and I have never been able to do it in less than 45 min! Please help us understand your procedure.
