Exclamation Radio's buzzing out... Need help....

I have a 97 mercedes e420 and I got a pioneer headunit installed abouta year ago. My friend installed my subs and everything was good untill a month ago... Then my radio started buzzing with the gas pedal like if i would speed up it would buzz louded as if it was the engine... And also I got these big discharges (boom/crackle) whener I would change the radio station or aux. modes or turn to the cd. I figured it was the amp or something untill about a week ago when i unplugged my amp and its my radio... I took it to besbuy but since my friend installed the amp//subs my warranty was voided... The guy said it had to do with my remote wire being pinched when the headunit was put back on but would that matter if it wasnt hooked up to the amp...

1. Squeeling noise with engine...
2. loud crackle when changing the radio station...
3. I think my amp screws for the power and speaker wire is stripped out would that have a factor when i plug everything in? its a old ass 800watt power accustic's amp...
4. I heard that if the remote wire and rca are ran through the same side of the car it would do that, or is it just that my remote wire is kinked or something..

can someone please give me help on exzactly what to do because i guess i got to ahead of myself and now its all messed up...

what changed to make all these symptoms start appearing ?

do this first though, check your battery ...... I'm willing to bet it's low on electrolyte.

Re: Radio's buzzing out... Need help....

I know cars are chassis grounded, and ships are floating grounds, but they have the same symptoms...
i have guys chasing grounds on the ship everyday, mostly by isolating procedures, (like you did w/your amp)...
re-check all of your connections and wires, make sure everthing is tight, plugged in and all of the insulation is intact...
the remote wire being pinched is a good ex. of a "grounded" ckt, be dilligent 'cause it's usually something like that, small and inconspicuos...

So basically what your saying is that it could be just a wire that is loose or disconnected that is making this happen? and also should i rewire my whole amp wires because the remote wire and rca's are running right next to eachother...

if the remote wire were pinched enough that the wire itself was making contact with metal, it would just short out. I guess it's possible the plastic coating is pinched hard enough to make it a very low resistance.

My money is still on a weak battery.

I would take your word on the battery because i dont see how it could be the remote wire if the subs arnt even plugged in right now..

If your problem is the battery, a ground in the system or a bad connection,
I was just saying a pinched wire, (be it remote, signal, power, etc.),
is the type of thing to look for when your chasing a bad ground...

I always start with the easiest stuff .... then try to narrow down as quickly as possible - no sense in chasing a shadow and ground problems can be just that.
