99 Beetle radio code
After replacing the battery in my 99 Beetle I can't get the security code to work in my radio. I have called a VW dealership who reassured me that I had the right code but no idea how to get my radio going again.
My radio is different to what is described and illustrated in the manual that came with the car and an owners manual I bought. So far the only advice I can find mentions that the radio comes up with the word SAFE and you enter a code using buttons 1-4. Instead, my radio comes up with CODE 1. I enter the code and it comes up with CODE 2, and then CODE 3. Then locks for an hour. Can anyone help me? Please?

Sounds like you radio is aftermarket and VW will be of no help. Find who in your town sells the brand of radio and see if they can help. Not all radios will fit in a NB as they can stuff up the electronics. Good luck.
