Red face What the deal with the driveshaft???

I have a 99 Tracker, and I'm so totally in love with it, but I think its trying to fall apart on me I had my mechanic look at it and he said it needs a rear driveshaft, then after 3 days told me that he couldn't find one, and that if i find one he will put it in for me, but that has proved to be a task all its own. Very few major part suppliers even have them. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any other model of car which share the same drive shaft assembly ( like vitara/samauri,etc.)
Or if any has a dead 99+ tracker and want to get rid of the driveshaft??

Your best bet is to contact some salvage yards and give them the model of your Tracker, if its a 2 door or 4 door and 2 or 4 wheel drive and find a good used one.
