Wipers Stopped
I post here every so often because this is the centralized location of everything 4th Gen. Civic.
My 21 brother was driving our car the other day and when he turned on the windsheild wipers they made a funny noise and moved completely to the left, past where they normally stop if they were running correctly. He got out of the car, and moved them back into their resting position. He tried to turn them on again and nothing happened. I already did a search to find similar situation but no one seemed to have any solid answers. Has this happened to any body else? Is it a blown wiper moter? An electrical issue? A wiper switch issue? I have no idea and I havn't gotten the chance to actually see the car yet so I am going on what my brother told me but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, DJ |

Re: Wipers Stopped
Wiper motor. OR ( and do this before you buy a new motor) the wipers somehow managed to strip out on the splines, or the linkage disconnected. turn them on and listen for the motor, it in the engine bay up against the firewall. take the two acorn nuts off the wipers, remove the wipers themselves and see if the actuall linkage is moving and everything, if none of that is bad..its the motor.
