92 corolla a/c question
can anyone tell me what this is? two wires are suppost to be conected to it but they broke off. its connected to the A/C line. This is a 92 4-AFE. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Looks like a low pressure cut off. prevents compressor from running when refrig charge is too low. Since these systems were usually add-on back then, it doesn't show in my wiring diagrams.

It is the hi/low presure switch looks as though it was hard wired to the switch you can buy a new switch which has terminals on it crimp new terminals to the existing wiring. you should be able to unscrew the old switch it should have a valve in it to prevent the gas escaping but be careful and unscrew it slowly if gas begins to escape dont remove it you will have to have the system degassed to do it . pretty sure it will be safe though good luck |
