Is this road trip a good idea
I'm planning ahead for a roadtrip I want to take in mid-january of next year. I have a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid which will, at the time of my trip, have around 75,000 miles on it. I want to drive about 5,000 miles in about two weeks, driving around six hours a day in mostly northern states (starting in Iowa and going up through Michigan and New England before ending in South Carolina). Assuming I change the oil and get new tires right before I leave, will the car make it out alright?

Re: Is this road trip a good idea
Sure I don't see why not. Are there any problems you are having currently with the car? Do you have roadside assistance or AAA just in case something does go wrong? Usually on cross country trips I like to have coverage in emergency situations. Your car is not that old with a lot of miles I assume they are highway?

he was asking if the current mile were mostly highway. and yes, unless the car has problems when you leave, you should be fine.
