Decanting Paint

Hello All,

Just trying to get an idea about the best way--or different ways--to decant spray paint. Getting ready to paint an F1 model and I'd like to decant the Tamiya Sprays that I have to use in my airbrush...

TIA,
Brian

Re: Decanting Paint

THe use of the search function and FAQ would solve that question, but with a straw and some sticky tack would be the best.

Hopefully Bob Downie will chime in. He has an excellent tutorial on decanting paint.

Re: Decanting Paint

Pretty much self-explanatory. I have some new straws that fit tightly w/o needing the fun tack o-ring.

Dangerously confusing on the eye

BTW Turbo_b00st, it's not a question of letting it settle but rather letting the saturated gas escape.
Gentle stirring from time to time with a cocktail stick helps to release it. Also, do NOT close the container tight at first.
Even so, in all probability your first try will result in some paint on your bench top (until you see for yourself how this works) so make sure you have old newspaper on your bench top!

I don't think anything further needs to be said on this subject.
