Re: Need help on Changing a thermostate on a 89 Centruy w/3.3 V6
Are you getting bubbles in the radiator bottle or radiator its self. Might be a blown head gasket. Also check for water in the oil or oil in the water. Can be a sign of a blown head gasket also. But does not always have to be present.
Go to a junk yard and get a fan plug from a car. The hook it up the the battery. See if your fan comes on. |

Re: Need help on Changing a thermostate on a 89 Centruy w/3.3 V6
the water and antifreeze in the jug and radiator has to keep being filled up because it gurgles(the sound it makes) and the head gasket is not blown,no water in the oil,,,the fan works but is still getting hott

Re: Need help on Changing a thermostate on a 89 Centruy w/3.3 V6
Does not always have to have water in the oil or oil in the water. I have had two cars that had blown head gaskets. ANd the water and oil were clean. Run the engine with the pressure cap on. Is there bubbles in the radiator reservior as it runs and warms up?? If ther is its probably a head gasket.
By your diecription it sounds like a head gasket. Check your spark plugs You can also remove all spark plugs put carboard uder them. Crank the engine and see if water shoots out. If it does its a head gasket. Also flush and block it coudl be pluged with dirt and debree cuaisng the engine to overheat |
