Unhappy '96 Pontiac Sunfire GT runs rough in hot, humid weather

Hi..

I own a 1996 sunfire GT with a 2.4 l engine..I bought the car late in March and had no problems until recently...there is approximately 120,000 kms on the engine... I had the spark plugs replaced just recently but I find that the car still has its problems in hot and humid weather...it runs fine in cooler and even cold weather
The car will start and run fine until it warms up ..if i stop at a light for any length of time and then try and accelerate it hesitates as if my foot is on the brake..then goes ..within seconds it sputters, jerks and runs really rough losing power until it dies...starts up again only to die on the spot..need to leave it for about 15 mins. to an hour ..then it will start right up again with no stalling or rough idle...

Any ideas? sensor maybe..and which one ??

I could say coil packs or Crank position sensor..cps, however knowing my luck I may have just misguided you. If you get no response here go over to Cavalier forum and re post as the two cars are basically the same. This part of the info is not misguided .........LOL
Good Luck........Muff
