I Hate Newer Cars !!! Help

My wife has a 1993 Ford Escort Wagon with the 1.9 L engine. I keep replacing starters in it but, now, the cooling fan has stopped working.. Yes, I tested it off the batt and it runs. Where is the sensor and/or relay to make it play?
My car is a 1983 Mercedes Diesel. 301,000 miles and it still plays @ 41 mpg. Plus, it is easy to work on..NO COMPUTERS!!!!

I posted it in the ford forums for you and heres the response I got...

Follow the heater hose from the firewall toward the thermostat. In this hose you will fine two sensors close to the thermostat end. The sensor that is closest to the thermostat is the one that sends the signal to the PCM to operate the fan.

There are also two relays (high and low) located beneath the air cleaner box.

If the car has AC, turn on the AC and see if the fan kicks in. If it does not, then the problem is likely in the relays. If the fan does turn on, then the temp sensor is likely kaput.

I am not certain what will happen if you disconnect the plug for this sensor... it may cause the computer to think the engine is hot and turn the fan on.
