nnomo racing - Honda NSX and Honda S2000

Hi everybody,

I am in the process of building two "teaser" cars for nnomo-racing

Tamiya Honda NSX and Tamiya Honda S2000

As requested by the management, I will build these box stock. No modifications at all, besides flocking.
The idea is to build OOB versions of each car and display them next to a couple of modified cars in their
showroom. I will build the modified versions after my return from South Africa, where I'm going to live
from August 2007 until March 2008.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. Feel free to ask if need be...

Honda NSX

Honda S2000

I'll update as soon as I can, despite writing exams right now.

Cheers from Germany
Sebastian

Looking great Sebastian! I love the cat on the S2000, it really looks good.

Re: nnomo racing - Honda NSX and Honda S2000

Update time,

I primed the bodies last week...

The S2000 was painted white first to bring out the yellow...

As you can see, panel lines have been applied before painting yellow.

Meanwhile I did some work on the interior of the NSX. Painted satin black and
flat black, flocked and added some detail (safety belt catches, switches...).

Thanks for watching! Comments and criticism welcome!

Re: nnomo racing - Honda NSX and Honda S2000

Hi again,

here are some mock-up shots of the painted bodies:

NOTE: Both are not polished/waxed yet!

The wheels:

S2000 wheels have been painted satin black. Lugnuts and lip are chrome silver for contrast.

Just for comparison: the original "gold" wheels...

...now wouldn't that look silly with the yellow paint?

Allright, I'm off for the weekend. Update next week...

Cheers

My two favorite cars and favorite kits! You're doing a stellar job on both. I can't wait to see them completed.

Nice work so far. I especially like the finish in the interior of the NSX

Those cars are beautiful!!!
Can I ask you, how did you do that amazing flocking? It is a powder? Because it doesn`t look like.

Hi Bartak,

I used some flocking I bought in an El Paso, TX (USA) model shop 7 years ago.
I don't remember the brand, though.

Just painted the areas to be covered with dark gray enamel paint, sprinkled the flocking on,
dumped on a bit more, pressed a little and shook the excess off. Just give it a try, it's really easy.
You can find another example here.

So much for that, if questions remain feel free to ask

Re: nnomo racing - Honda NSX and Honda S2000

Did some work on the S2000 interior:

Seatbelt catches have been added, otherwise it's OOB.
It's obvious that the flocking is not really the right size. It doesn't show that much when everything is assembled. I will definitely not use this flocking again

In case you're wondering about the instruments...I had to use the US version decals because the euro ones were printed way too dark. Looks better like that anyway IMO.

Re: nnomo racing - Honda NSX and Honda S2000

Well, seems like I didn't post any more progress pics

Anyway, cars are completed and delivered

nnomo racing is very happy with the results and they have more for me to build next year when I'm back from South Africa...

More pics in the completed thread.
