98 venture vibrations

My venture 103000k has developed a vibration (feels like its in the right front)around 70-75 mph. I had the tires all balanced and they checked ok. These are not the orginal tires that came with the van. I rotated the tires no difference. Struts ,control arms, and tie rods all seem to be in good shape. Tire store did a free check. I also checked out these items plus ball joints and axles all seem to be good. The vibration only occurs at this speed and only while your accerlating if i let off the gas when it starts to vibrate it stopsas soon as i hit the accerlator it starts to vibtate again. I cant seem to feel the vibration when i'm holding the speed steady. The motor + tranny mounts all seem to be ok. No funny noises while turning. I hope i covered everything i checked so far. Any help?

Re: 98 venture vibrations

This could be due to bad inner tie rods on the rack and pinion. I had a van that had a vibration only on decelleration, was due to a bad inner tie rod end. You could try adding like 1/2 turn of toe in on each side and see if the vibration goes away (the extra toe in will force the tie rods to compress and take up the extra slop). If the vibration goes away then you have a bad tie rod (most likely an inner one). Don't leave it like this whether it fixes the problem or not, the extra toe in will wear the tires and eventually the extra stress will damage the tie rods whether they are good or not.

Good Luck,

Sparky
