Windstar won't run properly

My '98 Windstar 3.0L died on me the other day. Towed it home and started troubleshooting. Found no fuel pump noise when the key was turned on. Checked the fuses, found the "R" PCM 30 amp mini fuse was blown. Replaced it and the van started right up. Took it for a spin to see if it would blow again...it didn't but the further I got from home the worse it ran, felt like the timing was retarded or advanced. Nursed it back home and began troubleshooting again. Not sure what to try next. Is there some code that is making it run bad?? Thanks in Advance. What would make this fuse blow?

Re: Windstar won't run properly

Found the problem...hot wire from the engine comp. fuse panel to the PCM was cut/chaffed against the engine behind the alternator.
