94 Bonneville Electrical problems

The problem that i have with my car is that when i turn the car on its idles high like i was pressing the gas. When driving the car when it turns on like that it takes off on itself and you have to keep your foot near the break or you will run into the back of some one. When also at a red light or in traffic i need to keep a lil distance it will try and like take off while my foot is still on the break. Like roll a few inches even tho i am holding my foot on the break. It only use to rev up after a drive of up to 45 mins or more and when i would stop and put it in park the rpm would be like b/w 1 and mid way b/w 2&3. also sometimes when i turn my horn will go off and i didn't even touch it. and also my check oil light always comes on even tho it is the right amount of oil in the car. Just to add about the high idle the service engine light always comes on when it does that. and you can smell that the car is over working. (if that makes any sense) the car would also stall here and there, but would start right back up. Another thing that i noticed is that when i put the AC on in the car it triggers the car to idle high as well.

Can someone please help ME!

Re: 94 Bonneville Electrical problems

Welcome to AF. This requires some involved diagnosis, you could clean the throttle body, remove the idle air control and clean that also, or get a pro to look into these issues. Get it scanned for codes to help pinpoint the problem, no quick answers for these issues. The horn is a problelm in the horn contacts in the steering wheel.

Re: 94 Bonneville Electrical problems

As a matter of fact when i first purchased the car i had to get an Ignition : Control Module because my system was telling the computer that i had the wrong Key and would not start majority of the time. I also had to get a new TPS throttle position sensor and i thought that it was acting up and thas why i kept having problems. Finally i found out that the sensor did not have to keep being reset like they said it had to and that it was just something that you plug in and thas it. So what i was told that might be is a loose wire or the Computer/Control Module. Does that sound about right?
