'04 Grand Prix GT Keyless Entry

I know there have been many posts on this issue, but I cant find any on the 2004. The only mention of 2004 is the moderator saying there is a difference in the reprogramming process for the 2004 compared to the prior years. My keyless entry, like many others simply stopped working. I changed the battery just to double check that first...still no good. Can someone outline the procedure for reprogramming the remote for the '04 Grand Prix GT? Thanks very much.

Re: '04 Grand Prix GT Keyless Entry

Welcome to AF.

We have several old historical posts for 2004 RKE programming. I recall the Moderator stating "for '04 and up Grand Prixs you will have to take it to a GM dealer because a scan tool (Tech II) is required for programming".

Ok, thank you for the quick response. I didn't find the post last night where the moderator mentioned this...sorry. If I had seen this, I wouldn't have bothered you with a new post about it. Thanks again
